Il Lago del Pellicone sorge a poca distanza dal Ponte e dal Castello dell’Abbadia che ospita il Museo Archeologico Nazionale e dal Parco Naturalistico Archeologico dell’antica città di Vulci, tra il comune di Montalto di Castro e quello di Canino.
Si tratta di uno specchio d’acqua con annessa una piccola cascata, completamente circondato da pareti di roccia vulcanica e da vegetazione incontaminata.
Esso rappresenta una piccola oasi di pace per chi si avventura attraverso i percorsi di trekking del Parco di Vulci, alla scoperta degli scavi dell’antica città e delle bellissime tombe etrusche presenti sul territorio.
Il Lago del Pellicone è stato scelto come set naturale per le riprese di numerosi film tra cui “Tre uomini e una gamba” con Aldo, Giovanni e Giacomo e “Non ci resta che piangere”.
È questo il lago in cui il duo di viaggiatori nel tempo formato da Benigni e Troisi incontra Leonardo da Vinci, accampato in questo spazio naturale fuori dal tempo ed intento a provare qualche sua nuova invenzione.
